Description of prostration (sujūd):
The Prophet (may Allah bless him and give him peace) would say “Allāhu akbar” and then go down into prostration.

Narrated from Ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with them both):
The Prophet (may Allah bless him and give him peace) said:
“I have been commanded to prostrate upon seven bones:
upon the forehead” — and he pointed with his hand to his nose — “and upon the two hands, the two knees, and the toes of the two feet; and do not tuck up your clothes or hair.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 812)
The Prophet (may Allah bless him and give him peace) would place both his hands on the ground before his knees when going into prostration.

Narrated from Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (may Allah bless him and give him peace) said:
“Be moderate in your prostration, and let none of you spread his forearms like a dog.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 822)
